My Testimony

Hailing from a traditional Orthodox Christian background, it was just a tradition for me to visit church every Sunday mornings. These visits never added value to my life because, to be frank, I never fully acknowledged the existence of God. However, I regularly sent my prayer requests to God without even realizing whether they were being answered or not. Though I saw and experienced many blessings, I was never fully convinced and always questioned and argued about the things of God. Till one day in 2009, my wife came back from office and insisted on taking her to a church which her colleague invited her to attend. Though I was reluctant, I decided to give it a try. The visit didn't have any impact on me though it made a difference in my wife's life. So I ended up going to this new found church with her every week.  I accepted Jesus as my personal savior and got water baptized the same year.  Being the youngest in the family, my father  expected me to carry out the traditions practiced by my forefathers. This put a lot of pressure on me when I got saved and made me reluctant to share my new found faith with my parents.

During this time, my heart was desperate to receive a personal touch from God and I always thought God never loved me and I was insignificant to Him. It was at that time, a 'Man of God' Prophet Bobby Conner had visited the church and as though an answer to my question pointed to me and said "Jesus loves you". I was taken by surprise and quite excited about the fact that Jesus could love me, a sinner.

Now let me give you a background of my life. I am the youngest son in a family of four, always protected as a young boy and was restrained the freedom which my  elder brothers enjoyed. My joy knew no bounds when I finally left my small hometown to pursue my studies in Engineering in a metropolitan city called Bangalore in Karnataka.  That was my first exposure to the outside world and my only aim was to make up for all the lost days of fun and enjoy life to the fullest. My elder brother had studied in the same college and was notorious for his 'ragging'. Little did I know that I would have to bear the brunt of his ways.  Ragging in college was quite common in those days and that is where I started my first stint with smoking and drinking. Looking back, though I was forced into it, somehow it became a part of life for 18 years , and a habit which I later struggled to do away with. I can now say that with the help of the Holy Spirit, I am totally delivered from this bondage.

‘Bangalore life’ introduced me to gang fights and court cases and the wrong connections during this time got me into many troubles. College life was a wild life and I cared little about my future and my family. All I wanted was to enjoy life to its fullest with my friends. Little did I realize that the innocence I had in  me had completely faded away. Looking back I realize that God’s hand was always upon my life as he protected me and kept me from so many . though I was not aware of it then.  There were many incidents where I could have drowned, but God's righteous hand upheld me all the time. By God’s grace I completed my studies, got a job in a reputed organization, later got married and I am now blessed with two beautiful girls.

In the year 2006, I got involved in share markets and real estate business due to which I incurred huge financial losses. This was a time I had sleepless nights trying to find ways and strategies to recover the lost money and was totally robbed of my peace. The enemy surely comes to steal, kill and destroy. When I came to know the Lord in 2009, I realized that striving to gain wealth of this world was pure vanity. This realization was a turning point in my life.

Another incident that set me back thinking was my wife’s miraculous healing from Thyroid. This really encouraged me and I started seeking God in a different way. Though I had heard about miracles and testimonies, it excited me when it happened in my family.

In the year 2013, I had gotten the chance to attend Prophet Tijo Thomas’ meeting held in St.Martin’s church, Sharjah. During the meeting, prophet Tijo Thomas had called my name ‘BIJI’ and had told me that I would step out from the bondage of unbelief of God’s existence. From that day onwards, I had started to connect with their ministry and also experienced many changes in my spiritual life. This was a turning point in my life and my walk with GOD.

I experienced so many miracles and favors in my life since then, be it at work place or family life. God helped me flourish at my work place beyond what I could imagine by pouring out his favor and I exceeded the expectation of the management. My life has changed for the better and I now know the meaning and purpose of my life and my role as a believer in the Kingdom of God.

I am growing as a believer of Jesus Christ every day. Looking back over the years, the love, joy and the peace that I have been enjoying in the Lord from 2009 when compared to my previous years, is beyond description.

I desire all my family and friends also to come and experience what Jesus has prepared for those who love Him.

1 Corinthians 2:9 says :

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
